That is very odd for microsoft word, and I think that it has more to do with your computer than the program. You may have a virus on your computer. If this isnt the case then you should file a bug report on the microsoft website.

chances are its because you have the automatic spell checker on which scans not just the spelling but also the grammer for every word you type, it was happening with mine as well but once you go into tools- options and find the spelling and grammer tab you can turn all that off and it will speed up your word...hope this helps

Do you mean delete a character that you just typed? If so:
Click just after of the letter you want to delete and press the Backspace button - the one that is above the enter key with an arrow on it like this %26lt;-------
If you want to delete a whole letter - the file - then you need to find where it is saved. You can look in you 'My Documents' file, or click on the 'Start' menu and select 'Search'. You can choose the option to search for word processing documents, and search for the name of the file. When you have found the file, right click on the icon and select delete. It will then go to your recycle bin on the desktop. You can then right click on the recycle bin icon and select 'empty recycle bin'.

Actually, if you set your Windows Vista to a previous version of Windows you should enable the ability to play classic (older) games. But, I can't give you a 100% guarantee, sorry. I know they had a presentation about the way the Vista will allow you to control your gaming, searching, and Internet. Overall, the Vista is going to be the next big thing, and if you have any worries, you can actually just buy it and keep the receipt, and if it doesn't work, return it. your user name will be your full email address. using outlook , you will need to select that your outgoing server requires authentication by choosing more settings. also, you should change your outgoing server port from 25 to 587 (also in more settings).
it's really easy to setup. i know these are the addresses for @sbcglobal.net accounts, but I am not positive for @yahoo.com accounts. i would assume so. you can search for yahoo pop settings if this doesn't work

On a sunny day with now clouds in sight, Aperture Priority, Program AE, Auto etc will all give the same shutterspeed. But if it were a cloudy, overcast or anything of the likes, the light levels are constantly changing by the second. Even if you quickly changed from one mode to the other, the light level would have changed enough for the camera to rip out a different exposure setting.

It depends on what you're copying from. I often have this kind of problem if copying text from a website or email.
I get around it by using Firefox's "copy as plain text" extension.
If you don't use Firefox, you can get around it by first pasting into Notepad and then copying from that and pasting into Excel. It will then be plain text.

Alright, this should be very easy to do. What would the code be to make a program write "apple" when the 'd' key is pressed. Please don't give any kind of code that just reads whats printed on the line I need to see something that will spontaneously write apple or any other word or action when a key is pressed. Also don't refer me to the microsoft c# help pages, I just started c# and those might as well be in Swahili. All I really know is how to make methods, classes, read and write lines, and implement variables.

You have to have a cd burner, burning program, and a cdr. First save the document to your hard drive, then open up your burning program and click make a data disk, then browse for the file you have saved and then select the file you have just made on ms word and initiate teh burn process.

Help- stuck with using a C compiler??!!?
I've got a project due in at college, and i don't know anything about using a C compiler!! It's on finding codes in texts, i'm trying to use the program on the panin.c link at http://cs.anu.edu.au/~bdm/dilugim/panin.... I've tried downloading Microsoft C++ Visual Basic and Miracle C but it keeps coming up with errors msgs.... could someone try the program out/ tell me where i'm going wrong? I want the program to work on a file containing text so I can find Panin's patterns....?

As others have stated, Dev C++ from bloodshed is probably the IDE and compiler you want to use. The compiler used is actually the gcc/g++ compiler used on just about every platform around. If you are just learning and not sure if you really and to be a computer programmer, Visual C++ is very expensive.
There's also the fact that NOTHING Microsoft makes ever follows standards (You can't lock people into using your crappy software that way). So if you learn the Microsoft way of programming, it may not work on a more standards compliant compiler like gcc.

Did your teacher tell you that it had to compile in Microsoft Visual Express? Different compilers pick up different errors. I always progammed my C++ programs in Dev, and my teacher never had a problem compiling them.
One hint, though. You've programmed it so that anything other than a 1 is a fail. This means that numbers such as 3,4,5,0,etc, are all considered to be fails instead of incorrect input. I don't know how strict your teacher is, but this could be considered to be an error.

Can compilers like DevC++ and CodeBlocks do just as much as like Microsoft C++? I am wanting to try and learn a little C++ by myself, but i dont want to buy Microsoft C++, is there a need to?

On my PC if you go into Microsoft works it will take you to the tasks launcher. If you look under WORD it gives u a list of many items. Scroll down and you should find Resume (CV). Click on this and then Start Task.
Alternatively go into Microsoft Word. Go to File and click on New Works Template. This will take you to the same place as above.

MSDN is a subscription service. And you usually have to subscribe, or purchase Visual Studio with an MSDN Subscription. Once you do so, you get new releases of Visual Studio for free! =) You get a lot of stuff free before anyone else gets it when you subscribe to the MSDN Library.
But you CAN just use the online MSDN Library. I would recommend it if you don't have about $1,500 extra. =P I purchased Visual Studio .NET 2005 Pro + MSDN Premium. That was about $2,500. It about broke me. LoL.
But an individual MSDN-only subscription is only about $199, which isn't too bad. It just depends on what you're looking for. =)

My Microsoft IntelliMouse died. I reinstalled software, new batteries, c'ked settings and its still dead! why?
I have used the Mouse for months, it just quit working. The software shows that the batteries are good, the signal is strong, and all is working. I uninstalled the software, and reinstalled it, and even bought a new IntellilMouse and installed it %26amp; it will not work. Any help that you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks Lloyd

I've been coding C# for a few years now and to be honest I've started to head away from it. It was a good reply to the Java issue to start with but in typical Microsoft fashion the .Net framework is getting bloated.
The reality of .Net was to compete with Sun after they gave Microsoft a kicking for stealing Java from them. If Microsoft had won then .Net would just have been Java but rather than pay Sun the license fees they created .Net. Microsoft technologies rarely go away but I'm in two minds on this one, you can't rely on the advance of hardware performance to compensate for sloppy code forever.
As an aside, did you ever see any of the Microsoft source code that was leaked? Amateur is all I can say about it. This code fixes this problem and then this code fixes the problem caused be the previous fix and so it goes on. Call a lemon a lemon and rewrite it.
The point is Linux is becoming more popular all the time, as well as the Mac gaining strength. Java is cross platform. Stick to Windows or code for everything?
What do you think about .NET Technology of Microsoft? is it the best framework for C++ programming now?

C# is probably the best suited language for .NET at the moment, but .NET isn't the best framework going. If you really care about your OS in that respect, use Linux. It's got a much more stable framework, and a perfect environment for C and C++.
