How do I get this answer in Microsoft Excel? The equation is y=C(1+r)^t and my equation is y=500(1+.08)^5.?

=C*(1+r)^t

C, r and t in the actual equation would be represented by the cell reference and those cells would contain the input data.

Don't forget the asterisk because excel doesn't assume that a value next to a bracket is a multiplier like a calculator does.
