Tell me Wrox or Schildt or Microsoft Press for C# ?

i want to know if i am about to begin my course in C# which

book should i choose ?

i need a book which can build core basics of programming ---

Tell me Wrox or Schildt or Microsoft Press for C# ?
I've purchased lot's of computer books in my 20 years of programming and generally feel books from O'Reilly press are of very high quality.

You might try them:

Keep in mind that so many language books will assume that you have some general understanding of programming. So take a good look at the Index to make sure that they get down to the level you are looking for.

Also, Amazon.Com will sometimes let you preview the first chapter of a book online before you purchase it.

Now, I hate to bad mouth anyone, but Microsoft has been awful in the book department. They seem to gear their books with a marketing slant. That is, they want you to learn some obscure new concept so that it catches on and becomes a trend. So, avoid MS Press at all costs.

Good luck
